Chongqing Major Qualifier dates and invites have been announced

Chongqing Major

After DreamLeague Season 11 was revealed as the third Major for the 2018-19 Dota Pro Circuit, the Chongqing Major was announced. It will be the second Major of the year after The Kuala Lumpur Major that is being played right now.

The Chongqing Major will be held from the 19th to the 27th of January 2019. Sixteen of the best teams in the world will be competing for the $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 DPC points.

Yesterday, Starladder announced all the details for the upcomming event. There will be two sets of open qualifiers for each of the six designated regions starting November 15th.

Europe will be the only region where three teams instead of four will advance from the open qualifiers.

The closed qualifiers for SEA, CIS and South America will take place in November 25-27th. China, Europe and NA will follow in November 28th-30th.

The Main Qualifiers will feature a best-of-three GSL group stage. The top 2 teams from each group advancing into Double-Elimination playoffs. The Grand Finals match in the Double-Elimination playoffs however, will not be played.

OG is back

The second Major will also bring back the reigning TI champions – OG. The European powerhouse had a break after winning the biggest even in eSports history. Now they seem like they’re ready to start winning yet again. Hopefully they won’t be affected by the “TI curse” that affects most of the other champions.

The caliber of the teams that will play in the event is really high. This makes the Major a perfect place for betting. Make sure to follow our news and predictions, because they will surely improve your success in betting.
