BO5 - 18 Jul - 14:00
It's time. Only two teams out of the original 24 qualified remains in IEM Cologne 2021, and they are now heading to one last game in the tournament, a best-of-five maps that will decide who will be lifting one of the most prestigious trophies in Counter-Strike.
G2 is coming to this best-of-final after surviving a small scare by Astralis in the semi-finals, and with a perfect score in the tournament since they have yet to lose a single game. The international team is looking confident, with their AWPer, AmaNEk, performing very well in Cologne, and the cousins huNter and NiKo delivering world-class performances consistently. If G2's record is impressive, then Na'Vi is even more. The team has been looking unstoppable ever since their victory over Gambit to win the StarLadder CIS RMR 2021, and there's a clear reason for it. While s1mple still is delivering amazing performances, dropping 30 kills per map every now and then even, electronic and B1T have both reached a point where they also can turn games on their own. Unlike in the past, shutting down s1mple doesn't mean that Na'Vi will go down with him. With this incredible trio, Na'Vi is also backed by Perfecto, which has been key to his team due to his support and lurking skills. In this game, expect to see a heated clash between G2 and Na'Vi. Yet, we believe that Na'Vi has the edge to take down G2, especially if s1mple can bring his latest performances to the server once again. All maps besides each team permaban, Overpass and Vertigo, will be played.
