Team Nigma and Alliance face each other in the opening weekend of the DreamLeague Season 14 DPC EU Upper division. The tournament has eight teams playing in a round-robin format competing for a share of the $205,000 prize pool. This event is also a part of the Dota Pro Circuit and has invaluable Dota Pro Circuit points on offer.
Towards the end of 2020, Team Nigma was bringing in amazing results often defeating its opponents with a 2-0 score. The quality of Team Nigma's opposition was often top tier highlighting how well Kuroky's return helped Nigma's prospects in tournaments. The 7.28 gameplay update is a major factor in 2021 and all Dota 2 matches will depend on how either team has adapted to the new meta. Team Nigma spent much of the previous year adjusting to roster changes, stand-ins and a poor understanding of the meta. But the aggressive playstyle can be extremely effective in this meta, especially with the addition of shards.
