After MDL Chengdu came to an end, it is time to focus on the upcoming DPC qualifiers for the next set of tournaments. However, unlike last time, these quals are played on the new patch. As you know, the long-waited Outlanders Update is fianlly here and it features tons of changes. Sadly, it seems like even the top teams were not prepared for them.

PSG.LGD

The first big team to “bite the dust” was the TI 8 runners-up. Although they are considered to be among the best teams in the world, the Chinese powerhouse failed shortly in round 3 of the open qualifiers. Needless to say, this was a shock to all of their fans.

LGD’s elimination is actually troublesome because the team decided to skip the first major. Now, after they got eliminated, they will also have to miss the second one. This means that we will see them in action in the third Major, if they manage to qualify.

The other big name that couldn’t make it to the Major is T1. The newly formed team failed to utilize their full potential and will have to ty next time.

The teams that made it

The first team that will go to the regional qualifiers is Death Squad. They played really well and definitely deserved their spot there. However, this team is famous for being banned by events organized from MDL after a series of past conflicts.

In addition to then, the second team going to the regional qualifiers is Revive but this was expected. They have a pretty strong roster around Li “ASD” Zhiwen and Ren “eLeVeN” Yangwei  that is definitely capable of achieving great success.

Of course, we are yet to see if this will be the case.

Conclusion

Be sure to watch the other regions because as you can see, there are tons of surprises. Who knows, we might see a Major without some of the biggest names there.
