Song “Sccc” Chun has always been one of the most talented Chinese players. In fact, he was even considered as the best player from this region a couple of months ago. Having said that, Newbee’s abysmal performance during the last DPC season did result in missing out on TI 9. What’s more, the Chinese organization decided to pick up the NA squad Forward Gaming instead. That’s why it was just a matter of time before some of the top players from Newbee changed their team.

The consequences

The first one to do this is Song “Sccc” Chun who played under Newbee’s banner for over for years. In fact, Song will play for a new team for the first time in his career as a player so far. He was a part of the Chinese broadcasting crew for TI 9 for the first time this year. Having said that, this definitely boosted the viewership because Sccc is a TI7 runner-up after all.

Newbee only managed to qualify for one big event during the last DPC season – MDL Macau. Despite the fact that they actually did pretty well there, it turned out to be a “one-time deal” as they were unable to qualify for any other tournaments.

Conclusion

Team Aster is definitely looking like a very solid team right now. Regardless of that, they need to try and work things out as a team because the individual skill of each player is not as important as it used to be. OG is the perfect example of the fact that once you have good synergy, getting the results is just a matter of time.

Here is Aster’s roster from 1 to 5:

  • Liu “Kamma” Chang
  • Song “Sccc” Chun
  • Kee Chyuan “ChYuan” Ng
  • Lin “Xxs” Jing
  • Ye “BoBoKa” Zhibiao
