We want to start by saying happy new year! We hope that 2020 will be an amazing year for every Dota 2 fan and punter out there.
The first big tournament of the year will be the Bukovel Minor, which starts on the 9th of January. Even though it’s just a Minor, it will still gather some of the best teams. Not only are they going to give it all out for that $300,000, but they are also going to compete for DPC points. As you know, these points are needed in order for a team to get a direct invite for TI 10. Although it’s only the second roll of DPC tournaments, every single point is valuable.
Format of the tournament
Eight of the best teams in the world will be divided into two GSL Groups. Every single match there will be Bo3. Although we expected this event to have a proper lower bracket, that won’t be the case. Instead, the top two teams from each group will advance further, whereas the bottom two will be eliminated.
After the group stage, there will be a LB. Every single series will be Bo3 until the Bo5 Grand Final.
The winner of this tournament will take hope $72,000 USD, 140 DPC points, as well as a spot for the Leipzig Major.
